Who is Eye-Opening Chenrezig? 谁是眼明观音菩萨？

Lama Thubten Namdrol Dorje, Spiritual Director of Thekchen Choling (Singapore) specially commissioned this 4 feet tall Eye-Opening Chenrezig rupa (body form). The compassionate Eye-Opening Chenrezig is especially dedicated to healing ailments related to the eyes. It is Lama Dorje’s wish to benefit those who have eye problems whether they are common problems like short-sightedness or cataracts or more severe cases caused by stroke.

在大乘禅寺（新加坡）住持，喇嘛图 登南都多杰的指示下，特别为了能治疗眼疾病患者如近 视，白内障或因中风所引起的种种眼睛病例，而塑造了 这尊高四尺的眼明观音菩萨像。

Lama Dorje started cultivating the Eye-Opening Chenrezig practice at the age of 27 when his guru Lama Konchog transmitted the practice to him.

在27岁时， 喇嘛多杰经由上师喇嘛衮却格西的传承修学眼明观音菩 萨法门。为了利乐大众的喇嘛多杰，因此，希望每个人 都有机会向眼明观音菩萨祈求加持。

With great compassion, he is now sharing with everyone the opportunity to make prayers to Eye-Opening Chenrezig.

About the Rupa (Body Form) of Eye-Opening Chenrezig

The Eye-Opening Chenrezig rupa holds a mirror in his left hand which represents consciousness and the element of space. It is clear, pure and bright, and reflects all phenomena with impartiality.

In his right hand, he holds a sacred water vase that embodies the visualized mandala of deities within its consecrated water. With the ritual of bath offering, it washes away the stains of our eyes and heart.

White body symbolizes purity and pacifying of sickness. It also represents the compassion of the moon that cools the heat of samsara (cyclic existence).
